Update: Video of the C-X17 concept in action added below. Jaguar has revealed the C-X17 concept ahead of its Frankfurt motor show debut, further underscoring the importance of an ever-growing luxury crossover/SUV segment. Looking a bit more like a bulked-up wagon than a scaled-down faux-truck, the C-X17 benefits from a stiff, lightweight aluminum monocoque.

Seat launches a Mondeo rival
Volkswagen's Spanish outpost is to expand its range upwards, entering the hotly contested Mondeo class for the first time. There's no name yet for the newcomer, but one badge in contention is Bolero, the name of its 1998 sports saloon concept. Details are sketchy at this stage, but Seat has confirmed it will offer a saloon and estate version, and they'll roll into dealership in 2009.

Jaguar X-type for 2008: the lowdown
Jaguar has finally given the X-type a facelift, but the 500 changes try their hardest to escape your attention. On paper at least. It's small wonder that we did a double take when we scooped the new X earlier this year; some said we'd just caught the current car on test, but it turns out we were right.
